Full-Time Live In or Live Out Nanny: $60-70K+ and PTO

Deerfield, IL Full Time

Family living in Deerfield, Illinois (north shore suburb of Chicago) with four and six year old girls and baby boy due in May is seeking a professional, experienced and educated full-time nanny. The schedule is on Monday – Friday at 7:00am-4:00pm, 3:00pm-8:00pm or combination of both and two weekends per month (Saturday and Sunday), guaranteed 40 hours per week. The schedule will be split with the other full-time nanny to ensure the family has seven day per week coverage. Later evenings and additional weekends while traveling are required. The position requires extreme flexibility as family’s schedule changes at various times in the year (e.g., summer, school holidays, travel, etc.). Approximately six to eight weeks of international and domestic travel per year is required. Safe vehicle for transportation is not required, as family will provide vehicle for transporting children. Girls attend a private school that is a close driving distance from the family’s residence. Family is building a residence in Glencoe, Illinois that will be completed in Fall 2018, so candidates must be comfortable with the new location in the near future. Applicants need to be honest, trustworthy, understand the importance of maintaining discretion (confidentiality agreement is required), collaborative to work with other domestic staff (full-time nanny, full-time housekeeper, full-time private chef) and stay-at-home mom and experienced working with principal(s) that work in residence occasionally (discreet and staying out of the way is important). Start date is June or July 2017, but flexible for the right candidate.


• Experienced working with similar aged children (newborns, preschool, school aged, etc.)

• Experienced working with at least three children in a nanny position

• Newborn experience and knowledgeable about routines, sleep training, reading and communicating to baby as often as possible, etc.

• Willing to transport children to and from school, scheduled activities, play dates, outings, etc.

• Willing to pack healthy lunches and prepare school bags for the next day

• Experienced with play-based learning and creating educational activities (e.g., planned engaging activities at home, developmentally appropriate games and activities, engaging projects and crafts, themed weeks, scheduled outings, etc.)

• Willing to assist children with homework and school projects

• Responsible for domestic duties relating to children (e.g., washing dishes after meals, assistance with children’s laundry, tidying playroom and bedrooms, etc.)

• Responsible for organizational projects relating to children (e.g., taking toys and clothing to donation, changing clothing seasonally, rotating books and toys quarterly or bi-annually, etc.)

• Responsible for packing children for trips, researching/planning activities at destination and ensuring appropriate gear is available at hotel or vacation house

• Experienced working collaboratively with other household staff (full-time nanny, full-time housekeeper, full-time private chef)

• 2-5+ years of full-time consistent and recent nanny experience

• 3-4 references from professional positions

• Seeking longevity (e.g., 2-5+ year commitment)

• Ability to complete extensive background checks and drug tests

• Driver’s license and clean driving record

• CPR and First Aid certification

• Immunizations (e.g., TDap, MMR, Flu shot)


• $60-70K+ gross salary (based on experience and qualifications)

• $20 per hour net for hours worked over 40 hours per week

• $100 per overnight net

• Health insurance stipend negotiable for the right candidate

• Two weeks (10 days) paid vacation

• Seven government holidays paid: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas

• Discretionary annual bonus and raise (performance evaluation required)
