Full-Time Nanny: $65K+ and Benefits

Family living in Lincoln Park of Chicago with 8 month and 2 year old girls is seeking an educated, experienced, professional, organized, and engaging Full-Time Nanny. The schedule is on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday at 6:30am – 4:00pm and Wednesday at 5:00pm – 9:00pm. Flexibility is required to work occasional additional hours and weekends when traveling with family. Nanny is required to travel internationally and domestically with family approximately 2-4+ weeks per year. Approximately 5-10+ overnights at residence are required annually when parents are traveling without children. Family has residence in Michigan and nanny is required to work approximately 2-3 weekends each summer and four weeks every August (Weekends in August are off and nanny can bring train back to Chicago). Safe vehicle for transportation is provided by family. Part-Time Housekeeper is also employed. Candidates must be comfortable with dog. This is a newly created position. Local candidates are required for position. Start date is January 2018, but flexible for the right candidate.


• Experienced working with similar aged children (newborns, toddlers, preschool, school aged, etc.)

• Newborn experience and knowledgeable about routines, sleep training, reading and communicating to baby as often as possible (family will likely have additional children)

• Willing to transport children to and from school, scheduled activities, play dates, outings, etc.

• Experienced with meal planning and preparing fresh and healthy meals for children that introduce them to new foods (pureed baby food for infant when age appropriate)

• Willing to pack healthy lunches and prepare school bags for the next day

• Experienced with play-based learning and creating educational activities (e.g., planned engaging activities at home, developmentally appropriate games and activities, engaging projects and crafts, themed weeks, scheduled outings, etc.)

• Willing to assist children with homework and school projects (when age appropriate)

• Support teaching and reinforcement of manners and other social skills

• Provide developmentally appropriate games and activities, engaging projects and crafts at home and schedule/plan fun outings and events

• Responsible for domestic duties relating to children (e.g., washing dishes after meals, tidying playroom and bedroom, assistance with children’s laundry, etc.)

• Responsible for organizational projects relating to children (e.g., taking toys and clothing to donation, rotating children’s clothes seasonally, rotating books and toys quarterly or bi-annually, etc.)

• Responsible for packing children for trips, researching/planning activities at destination and ensuring appropriate gear is available at hotel or resort

• Diligent team player and willing to work collaboratively with other domestic staff and Principals

• Experienced and willing to be an extension of the parents collaborating and communicating frequently (Previous experience working with stay-at-home mom and Principals that are around residence is ideal)

• Assistance with dog (e.g., feeding, walking, taking to vet and groomer, etc.)

• Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or Early Childhood Development is most ideal, but bachelor’s degree is required

• Passionate about education, child development, etc.

• 2-5+ years of full-time consistent and recent nanny experience

• 3-4 references from professional positions

• Seeking longevity (e.g., 2-5+ year commitment)

• Live a close proximity to the family’s residence in Lincoln Park

• Ability to complete extensive background checks, motor vehicle checks and drug tests

• Driver’s license and clean driving record

• CPR certification

• Immunizations required in future with newborn (TDap, MMR, Flu Shot, etc.)

• Comfortable with dog


• $65K+ gross salary (based on experience and qualifications)

• Health insurance stipend

• $20 per hour net for overtime hours over 40 hours per week

• $100 per overnight net for travel and overnights at residences

• Two weeks (10 days) paid vacation

• Seven government holidays paid: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas

• Discretionary annual bonus and raise (performance evaluation required)
