Full-Time Nanny/House Manager: $65-75K+ and PTO

Family living in Bucktown of Chicago with 2 year old girl and baby boy due in January is seeking an educated, experienced, professional, organized, and engaging Full-Time Nanny/House Manager. The schedule is on Monday – Friday at 12:00pm – 8:00pm (flexibility to work 10:00am-6:00pm or varying hours for a few months following the arrival of baby). Flexibility is required to work occasional additional hours and weekends when traveling with family. Nanny is required to travel internationally and domestically with family approximately 4-6 weeks per year. Approximately 5-10 overnights at residence are required annually when parents are traveling without children. Safe vehicle for transportation is provided by family for staff. Children are both enrolled in preschool/daycare, which are driving distance from the family’s residence. Full-Time Housekeeper works earlier hours to assist with morning routine and transportation of children to preschool/daycare (Monday – Friday at 7:00am-3:00pm). Candidates must be comfortable with small dog. Nanny is required to assist with house management responsibilities when children are at school/daycare (e.g., registering children for activities, lesson planning, running errands for family and children, organizational projects at residence, liaison between Principals and housekeeper, oversee household maintenance, assistance with dog, etc.). Start date is December 2017.


• Experienced working with similar aged children (newborns, toddlers, preschool, school aged, etc.)

• Newborn experience and knowledgeable about routines, sleep training, reading and communicating to baby as often as possible

• Willing to transport children to and from school/daycare, scheduled activities, play dates, outings, etc.

• Experienced with meal planning and preparing fresh and healthy meals for children that introduce them to new foods (pureed baby food for infant when age appropriate)

• Willing to pack healthy lunches and prepare school bags for the next day

• Experienced with play-based learning and creating educational activities (e.g., planned engaging activities at home, developmentally appropriate games and activities, engaging projects and crafts, themed weeks, scheduled outings, etc.)

• Willing to assist children with homework and school projects (when age appropriate)

• Support teaching and reinforcement of manners and other social skills

• Provide developmentally appropriate games and activities, engaging projects and crafts at home and schedule/plan fun outings and events

• Responsible for domestic duties relating to children (e.g., washing dishes after meals, tidying playroom and bedroom, assistance with children’s laundry, etc.)

• Responsible for organizational projects relating to children (e.g., taking toys and clothing to donation, rotating children’s clothes seasonally, rotating books and toys quarterly or bi-annually, etc.)

• Responsible for house management responsibilities when children are at school (e.g., registering children for activities, lesson planning, running errands for family and children, organizational projects at residence, liaison between Principals and housekeeper, servicing vehicles, oversee household maintenance, assistance with dog, etc.)

• Responsible for packing children for trips, researching/planning activities at destination and ensuring appropriate gear is available at hotel or resort

• Diligent team player and willing to work collaboratively with other domestic staff and Principals

• Experienced and willing to be an extension of the parents collaborating and communicating frequently (previous experience working with Principals that are around residence is ideal)

• Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or Early Childhood Development is most ideal, but bachelor’s degree is required

• Passionate about education, child development, etc.

• 2-5+ years of full-time consistent and recent nanny experience

• 3-4 references from professional positions

• Seeking longevity (e.g., 2-5+ year commitment)

• Live a close proximity to the family’s residence in Bucktown

• Ability to complete extensive background checks and drug tests

• Driver’s license and clean driving record

• CPR and First Aid certification

• Immunizations (TDap, MMR, Flu Shot, etc.)

• Comfortable with small dog


• $65-75K+ gross salary (based on experience and qualifications)

• Health insurance stipend optional (Based on salary offered to candidate)

• $20 per hour net for overtime hours over 40 hours per week

• Two weeks (10 days) paid vacation

• Seven government holidays paid: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas

• Discretionary annual bonus and raise (performance evaluation required)
