Part-Time Nanny: $20-25 per hour

South Loop • Chicago, IL Part Time

Family living in the South Loop of Chicago with 4 month old boy and 2 year old girl is seeking a professional, experienced and educated Part-Time Nanny. The schedule is guaranteed 30 hours per month. Monday and one other weekday evening (day selected by nanny) at 5:00pm – 8:00pm and weekends (nearly always on Saturday, but occasionally on Sunday) at rotating weekends on Saturday during the day and Saturday evening. Flexibility with weekday evening and weekend scheduling is required. Travel and occasional overnights may be required for position, but only if nanny has flexibility with schedule. Safe vehicle for transportation is not required, as family will provide vehicle. Applicants need to be comfortable with dog, honest, trustworthy, resourceful, willing to make at least one+ year commitment (ideal candidate would be interested in longer), collaborative and experienced working with Principals. Family has a full-time nanny that works more normal hours on Monday through Friday. Start date is ASAP, but flexible for the right candidate.


• Nanny experience with at least two+ children of similar ages

• Experienced working with infants and toddlers with knowledge of setting routines, sleep training, physical and cognitive development

• Experienced with play-based learning and creating educational activities (e.g., planned engaging activities at home, developmentally appropriate games and activities, engaging projects and crafts, scheduled outings, etc.)

• Support teaching and reinforcement of manners and other social skills

• Provide developmentally appropriate games and activities, engaging projects and crafts at home and schedule/plan fun outings and events

• Willing to transport children to and from scheduled activities, sports, play dates, outings, school, etc.

• Experienced with meal planning and preparing fresh and healthy meals for children that introduce them to new foods (pureed baby food for infant when age appropriate)

• Experienced and comfortable working with children that have food allergies (Daughter has Celiac disease – Gluten free diet)

• Willing to pack healthy lunches and prepare school bags for the next day

• Responsible for domestic duties relating to children (e.g., washing dishes after meals, tidying playroom and bedroom, assistance with children’s laundry, packing children for trips, etc.)

• Willing to assist with household tasks when Principals are spending time with children (e.g., household inventory lists, running errands, wrapping gifts, organizational projects, etc.)

• Diligent team player and willing to work collaboratively with Principals

• Experienced and willing to be an extension of the parents collaborating and communicating frequently (previous experience working with Principals that are around residence is ideal)

• Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or Early Childhood Development is most ideal, but bachelor’s degree is required

• Passionate about education, child development, etc.

• 2-5+ years of consistent and recent nanny experience

• 2-3 references from professional positions

• Seeking longevity (e.g., at least 1+ year commitment)

• Live a close proximity to the family’s residence in South Loop of Chicago

• Ability to complete extensive background checks, motor vehicle checks and drug tests

• Driver’s license and clean driving record

• CPR and First Aid certification

• Vaccinations (e.g., TDap, MMR, Flu shot)

• Comfortable with dog


• $20-25 per hour net (guaranteed payment for 30 hours per month)

• $100 per overnight net while traveling or working overnights at family’s residences

• Discretionary annual bonus and raise (performance evaluation required)
