Two Full-Time Nanny/House Managers: $65K+ and Benefits

Family living in Ravenswood/Lakeview of Chicago with 7 months and 7 year old girls and 4 year old boy is seeking two educated, experienced, professional, organized, and engaging Full-Time Nanny/House Managers. Schedule will be spilt between two full-time live out nanny/house managers to ensure the family has seven day per week coverage. Nanny/house managers will work three or four days per week with the approximate times on Monday – Friday at 7:00am – 9:00pm, Saturday at 12:00pm – 12:00am and Sunday at 7:00am – 9:00pm. Nearly all months this schedule will ensure each nanny/house manager has two weekends off and travels half of the time with family. Nanny/house managers should be comfortable working many days consecutively (e.g., if traveling for two weeks at a time, only one nanny/house manager will travel with family and the other nanny/house manager is off work). Approximately 6 to 8+ weeks of domestic and/or international travel per year is required. Approximately 10 to 20+ overnights are required annually when the parents are traveling without children. Monthly schedules will be made at least two or three months in advance. The position requires extreme flexibility as family’s schedule changes at various times in the year (e.g., school calendars, summer, travel, etc.). Older children are enrolled in school, which are driving distance from the family’s residence. Nanny/House Managers are required to assist with house management responsibilities when children are at school and/or napping (e.g., registering children for activities, lesson planning, running errands for family and children, scheduling contractors and vendors, servicing vehicles, organizational projects at residence, meal planning, assistance with dog, etc.). Both parents have extremely demanding work schedules and careers. The family will be gut renovating their residence, which will likely begin in June 2018 and take six or more months to complete. Candidates must be comfortable with dog (Black Lab). Staff vehicle is provided by family for transporting children and running errands. Full-Time Housekeeper works on Monday through Friday. These are newly created positions and we are staffing all positions for family (e.g., two full-time nanny/house managers and full-time housekeeper). Start date is ASAP, but flexible for the right candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Experienced working with similar aged children (infants, toddlers, preschool, school aged, etc.)

• Experienced with play-based learning and creating educational activities (e.g., planned engaging activities at home, developmentally appropriate games and activities, engaging projects and crafts, themed weeks, scheduled outings, etc.)

• Provide developmentally appropriate games and activities, engaging projects and crafts at home and schedule/plan fun outings and events

• Support teaching and reinforcement of manners and other social skills

• Willing to assist children with homework and school projects

• Willing to transport children to and from school, scheduled activities, play dates, outings, etc.

• Experienced with meal planning and preparing fresh and healthy meals for children that introduce them to new foods (pureed baby food for infant)

• Willing to pack healthy lunches and prepare school bags for the next day

• Responsible for domestic duties relating to children (e.g., washing dishes after meals, tidying playroom and bedroom, assistance with children’s laundry, etc.)

• Responsible for organizational projects relating to children (e.g., taking toys and clothing to donation, rotating children’s clothes seasonally, rotating books and toys quarterly or bi-annually, etc.)

• Responsible for house management responsibilities when children are at school and/or napping (e.g., managing and overseeing family’s calendars, registering children for activities and summer camps, lesson planning, running errands for family and children, scheduling contractors and vendors, organizational projects at residence, meal planning, servicing vehicles, oversee household maintenance, assistance with dog, etc.)

• Responsible for packing children for trips, researching/planning activities at destination and ensuring appropriate gear is available at hotel or resort

• Assistance with dog (e.g., feeding, walking, taking to vet and groomer, etc.)

• Diligent team player and willing to work collaboratively with nanny/house manager, housekeeper and Principals

• Experienced and willing to be an extension of the parents collaborating and communicating frequently (previous experience working with Principals that are around residence is ideal)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Capable of building good rapport with children

• Ability to travel internationally and domestically whenever necessary

• Highly organized, detail oriented, proactive, excellent time management, efficient and service focused

• Attentive to Principals’ preferences and style (intuitive to their needs)

• Observant to the needs of family and home to anticipate their needs (e.g., finding and registering children for activities that are age appropriate, planning engaging activities at home, etc.).

• Ability to maintain discretion (confidentiality agreement is required)

• Ability to be discreet with respect for employer’s privacy

• Professional presentation of self and great personality

• Ability to easily take direction

• Strong ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with Principals

• Positive attitude and ability to handle position with ease and calm demeanor

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or Early Childhood Development is most ideal, but bachelor’s degree is required

• Passionate about education, child development, etc.

• 2-5+ years of full-time consistent and recent nanny experience

• 3-4 references from professional positions

• Seeking longevity (e.g., 2-5+ year commitment)

• Live a close proximity to the family’s residence in Ravenswood/Lakeview

• Ability to complete extensive background checks, motor vehicle checks and drug tests

• Driver’s license and clean driving record

• CPR and First Aid certification

• Vaccinations/Immunizations (e.g., TDap, MMR, Flu shot)

• Comfortable with dog

COMPENSATION:

• $65K+ gross salary (based on experience and qualifications)

• $100 per overnight net while working overnights at residence and traveling with family

• Health insurance

• Five days paid vacation

• Discretionary annual bonus and raise (performance evaluation required)
