Weekend Nanny: $20+ per hour

Lincoln Park • Chicago, IL Part Time

Family living in Lincoln Park of Chicago with 10, 12 and 14 year old children is seeking an educated, experienced, professional, organized, and engaging Weekend Nanny. Two weekends per month are required for position (another weekend nanny works the other two weekends per month). The schedule is on Saturday at 7:00am – late evening and Sunday at late morning – 6:30pm. Flexibility is required to work occasional additional weekends. The family travels to beach house in the summer, so weekend nannies are off the month of July and first half of August. Two+ year commitment is required for the position. Safe vehicle for transportation is ideal, but not required for the right candidate. Candidates must be comfortable with dogs and working collaboratively with Principals that are at residence often and other domestic employees (e.g., Nannies, Housekeeper, etc.). Start date is ASAP, but flexible for the right candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Experienced working with similar aged children (school aged, teenagers, etc.)

• Willing to transport children to practices, sports events, scheduled activities, play dates, outings, etc.

• Experienced preparing fresh and healthy meals for children

• Experienced creating educational activities (e.g., planned engaging activities at home, scheduled outings, etc.)

• Willing to assist children with homework and school projects

• Support teaching and reinforcement of manners and other social skills

• Provide developmentally appropriate games and activities, engaging projects and crafts at home and schedule/plan fun outings and events

• Responsible for domestic duties relating to children (e.g., washing dishes after meals, assistance with children’s laundry, tidying playroom and bedroom, etc.)

• Diligent team player and willing to be an extension of the parents collaborating and communicating frequently

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Capable of building good rapport with children

• Highly organized, detail oriented, proactive, excellent time management, efficient and service focused

• Attentive to principals’ preferences and style (intuitive to their needs)

• Ability to maintain discretion (confidentiality agreement is required)

• Ability to be discreet with respect for employer’s privacy

• Professional presentation of self and great personality

• Ability to easily take direction

• Strong ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with principals and domestic staff

• Positive attitude and ability to handle position with ease and calm demeanor

• Active and fit

• Non-Smoker

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree required (Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or Early Childhood Development is most ideal, but bachelor’s degree is required)

• Nanny experience

• 3-4 references from professional positions

• Safe vehicle for transportation

• Seeking longevity (at least two+ year commitment required)

• Live a close proximity to the family’s residence in Lincoln Park

• Ability to complete extensive background checks and drug tests

• Driver’s license and clean driving record

• CPR certification

COMPENSATION:

• $20+ per hour net
