Pumpkin Patches Across the Country

 

Fall is officially here, the air is crisp and the pumpkins are ready for picking. We put together a list of some great spots to get you started on your hunt for the perfect pumpkin. Happy picking!

Chicago

 

Goebbert’s Farm & Garden Center, South Barrington

Location: 17250 S Weber Road, South Barrington, IL

Goebbert’s is one of the best pumpkin farms around Chicagoland. Goebbert’s has a huge farm stand store and sells everything from homemade apple cider to fresh baked donuts. You can also have your kiddos take their picture at the exotic petting zoo. The farm also offers a haunted house and large playground. This farm is bound to be crowded throughout the month of October, so be sure to get there early!

 

Siegel’s Cottonwood Farm, Lockport

Location: 17250 S. Weber Road, Crest Hill, IL

Siegel’s Farm has more than 25 attractions included with admission, which include slides, a pumpkin patch, several different train rides, a petting zoo, a chick nursery, a costumed pumpkin princess, an interactive show, 3 themed playgrounds and a corn maze. Siegel’s also offers a haunted zombie paintball ride and a gem mining. Admission is only $14 a person on weekends and $12 on weekdays, which includes all of the exciting rides.

 

Kroll’s Fall Harvest Farm, Waukegan

Location: 13236 W. Town Line Rd. Waukegan IL 60087

Kroll’s Fall Harvest Farm is a great, traditional pumpkin farm for families. They have a corn maze and also have a large pumpkin patch. Kroll’s Fall Harvest Farm offers families a laid back and relaxing experience, filled with fun that will be enjoyable for the whole family.

 

Konow’s Corn Maze, Homer Glen

Location: 16849 S. Cedar Rd., Homer Glen, IL

Konow’s Corn maze has two different corn mazes to choose from in addition to their large pumpkin patch. The have a petting zoo and both indoor and outdoor activities, such as a shooting gallery, a straw playground and a mechanical bull. Konow’s will offer families a traditional and fun atmosphere.

 

Odyssey Fun Farm, Tinley Park

Location: 19111 South Oak Park Ave, Tinley Park

Odyssey Fun Farm offers a 15 acre corn maze, a pumpkin patch and a petting zoo. They have a zombie safari hayride and an inflatable fun zone. Be sure to get there early to enjoy all of the attractions this farm has to offer!

 

Johansen Farms, Bolingbrook

Location: 710 W Boughten Road, Bolingbrook, IL

Johansen Farms is a staple of the Chicagoland suburbs. This Bolingbrook farm brings the farm to the people in the burbs. Attractions include: pony ride, corn maze, hay tunnel, train rides, a castle and a petting zoo. They also offer free pony rides, making the trek out to Bolingbrook well worth it!

 

Sonny Acres Farm, West Chicago

Location: 29W310 North Ave, West Chicago, IL 60185

Sonny Acres is one of Chicago’s most famous pumpkin patches. With a wide variety of pumpkins, this location also offers a haunted hayride, a petting zoo and a haunted barn. General admission to Sonny Acres Farm is free, which will offer and fun and free experience for you and your kiddos!

 

Bengtson’s Pumpkin Fest 2013, Homer Glen

Location: 13341 W 151st Street, Homer Glen IL

Bengtson’s pumpkin farm hosts one of the largest and most popular pumpkin patches in the area. All kiddie rides are free with general admission. Check out the train, flying frogs and the mega slide. They also have a Cinderella carriage, a petting zoo and a huge playground. Tickets can be bought online.

 

Didier Farms, Lincolnshire

Location: 16678 Aptakisic Road, Lincolnshire, IL

Didier Farms is located just outside of the Chicagoland area. In the Pumpkin Playland, kids can walk in a giant size hamster wheel, climb a straw mountain and conquer a corn maze. Not to miss: petting zoo, camel strolls and parakeets in the animal land.

 

New York

 

Pumpkinville | Great Valley

Location: 4844 Sugartown Road, Great Valley, NY 14741

Pumpkinville is a 200+ acre family owned farm where you can pick your own pumpkins and 10 different kinds of gourds. Other activities include a Punchin’ Pumpkin Race, Singing Chicken Show, farm animals and much more!

 

The Great Pumpkin Farm | Clarence

Queens County Farm Museum | Floral Park

Location: 73-50 Little Neck Parkway, Floral Park, NY 11004-1129

“Queens County Farm Museum’s history dates back to 1697; it occupies New York City’s largest remaining tract of undisturbed farmland. The farm encompasses a 47-acre parcel that is the longest continuously farmed site in New York State. The site includes historic farm buildings, a greenhouse complex, livestock, farm vehicles and implements, planting fields, an orchard and herb garden.”

 

Ochs Orchard | Warwick

Location: 4 Ochs Lane, Warwick, NY 10990

Ochs Orchard has a “pick your own” for every season! The orchard is a three generation family owned farm that was started in the 1930’s. They now offer fresh-pressed cider, fresh-made donuts and homemade ice cream.

 

Old MacDonald’s Farm | Sackets Harbor

Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch | Culver City

Shawn’s Pumpkin Patch | Los Angeles

Shawn’s Pumpkin Patch has lots of kid-friendly events and activities to offer, along with some pretty awesome pumpkins! They also have a second location – 3443 S. Sepulveda Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90034

 

 

Tina’s Pumpkin Patch | Sherman Oaks

Tina’s is great for groups and school age kids! They also offer pony rides and a petting zoo.

 

Forneris Farms | Mission Hills

Location: 15200 Rinaldi Street, Mission Hills, CA 91345

Kids and adults and get lost in the 4-acre corn maze or take a narrated tour around the farm on a tractor-pulled train! Forneris Farms has a wonderful farm market with locally and sustainably grown produce. Their fall festival is now through October 31st!

 

San Francisco

 

Clancy’s Pumpkin Patch | San Francisco

Location: 1620 7th Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94122

“Clancy’s opened San Francisco’s first Pumpkin Patch in 1979. Visiting the patch in October, you will find pumpkins of all sizes and shapes. Gourds, corn stalks, and indian corn are in abundance.”

 

Pomeroy Pumpkin Patch | San Francisco

Location: 207 Skyline Blvd., San Francisco, CA 94132

The Pomeroy Recreation & Rehabilitation Center will be hosting a Pumpkin Patch, Haunted House (ages 4-16), a Pumpkin Patch Movie Night, and a Halloween Party! All proceeds benefit people with Developmental Disabilities.

 

Speer Family Farms | Alameda

Location: 2153 Ferry Point, Alameda, CA

Speer Family Farm not only has tons of locally grown pumpkins, they also have a 200-foot zipline and a petting zoo!

 

Lemos Farms | Half Moon Bay

Swank Farms | Hollister

Bedner’s Farm Fresh Market | Delray Beach and Boynton Beach

Bedner’s Fall Festival is open weekends now until October 30th. Get your pumpkins and take a hayride around this beautiful 80 acre farm! Other attractions include: award winning BBQ, corn maze, petting zoo, bounce house, food trucks, and a fresh produce market.

 

Flamingo Road Nursery | Davie

Check out the Fall Harvest Festival at Flamingo Road Nursery now through November 6th! Open every day from 8 AM – 6 PM, kids can pick a pumpkin from the patch, or paint one in the craft and activity area.
