Full-Time Nanny for Infant: $75K+ and Benefits

Battery Park • New York, NY Full Time

Family living in Battery Park of NYC with six month old boy is seeking a professional, experienced and educated full-time nanny. Schedule is on Monday – Friday at 8:30am – 6:30pm with guaranteed 50 hours per week. Nanny is required to work occasional later evenings when needed by family. Flexibility is required for the position, as both parents travel for work. Nanny will also be offered weekend shifts for overtime hours, if desirable but not required. Approximately 2-4+ weeks of international and/or domestic travel per year is required and approximately 2-3+ weeks of overnights at residence annually are required when parents are traveling without child. Applicants need to be honest, trustworthy and collaborative to work with first time parents. Cleaning service is scheduled one day every two weeks. Family is only open to local candidates (e.g., Manhattan, New Jersey, Brooklyn, etc.). Start date is ASAP, but flexible for the right candidate. 


• Infant experience and knowledgeable about routines, sleep training, reading and communicating to baby as often as possible 

• Tracking daily and developmental milestones through app or paper/journal (e.g., tummy time, feedings, sleep, diaper changes, reading, etc.)

• Baby is already sleep trained, so nanny will need to follow specific sleep schedule and routines that have been implemented by principals 

• Experienced with play-based learning and creating educational activities (e.g., planned engaging activities at home, developmentally appropriate games and activities, engaging projects and crafts, themed weeks, scheduled outings, etc.)

• Knowledgeable about child development (e.g., firm when necessary and capable of teaching child manners and etiquette, but also capable of being laid back and fun) 

• Support teaching and reinforcement of manners and other social skills

• Provide developmentally appropriate games and activities, engaging projects and crafts at home, schedule/plan fun outings and events, register child for age appropriate activities and schedule play dates 

• Willing to make pureed baby food when age appropriate for infant (or follow baby-led weaning if preferred by principals) 

• Experienced with meal planning and preparing fresh and healthy meals for child that introduces them to new foods 

• Willing to transport child to scheduled activities, play dates, outings, etc. (when age appropriate)

• Domestic duties relating to child (e.g., washing bottles, stocking diapers/wipes/etc., washing dishes after meals, child’s laundry, tidying playroom and bedroom, etc.)

• Organizational projects relating to child (e.g., suggesting developmentally appropriate toys, taking toys and clothing to donation, changing clothing seasonally, rotating books and toys quarterly or bi-annually, etc.)

• Packing and unpacking child for trips, researching/planning activities at destination and ensuring appropriate gear is available at hotel or resort 

• Experienced and willing to be an extension of the parents collaborating and communicating frequently 


• Capable of building good rapport with children 

• Passionate about child development and education

• Experienced working with similar aged children (newborns, toddlers, preschool, school aged, etc.) 

• Experienced working with at least two+ children in a nanny position (family hopes to have more children in the future) 

• Ability to travel internationally and/or domestically whenever necessary 

• Highly organized, detail oriented, proactive, excellent time management, efficient and service focused

• Attentive to principals’ preferences and style (intuitive to their needs)

• Observant to the needs of family and home to anticipate their needs (e.g., planning engaging activities at home, proactively planning activities for travel, etc.) 

• Ability to maintain discretion (confidentiality agreement is required)

• Ability to be discreet with respect for employer’s privacy

• Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or Early Childhood Development is most ideal, but bachelor’s degree is required 

• 2-5+ years of full-time consistent and recent nanny experience (many years with minimal families is required) 

• 3-4 references from professional positions (domestic positions are ideal)

• Seeking longevity (e.g., 2-5+ year commitment)

• Live a close proximity to family’s residence in Battery Park of NYC (e.g., Manhattan, New Jersey, Brooklyn, etc.) 

• Ability to complete extensive background checks, motor vehicle checks and drug tests 

• Driver’s license and clean driving record 

• CPR Certification 

• Vaccinations (e.g., TDap, MMR, Flu shot) 


• $75K+ gross annual salary (based on background and experience) 

• $25 per hour net for hours worked over 50 hours per week

• $100 per overnight net (traveling with family and working overnights at residence) 

• $300-500 per month gross health insurance stipend 

• Two weeks (10 days) paid vacation

• Seven government holidays paid 

• Three sick days paid

• Discretionary annual bonus and raise (performance evaluation required)
